About

Third Eye Grannies Publishing was set up by two friends who are passionate about inspiring young children through storytelling. On becoming fathers they both realised the importance of the special moments sharing bedtime stories with their children, engaging their imaginations and stimulating their dreams before sleep. Having now read so many brilliant publications, they wanted to create their own legacy for their children and other generations to come. With each book being associated with a different children's charity they hope their work will provide much needed support to children and families across the country who are in need of some extra care and love.

Stewart Rae

Text Generator

Stewart is the first of our collaborating authors, who only took up children’s book writing in the last 5 years. On becoming an Uncle for the first time Stewart decided he would rekindle his passion for creative writing, something he had not tapped into since his days at secondary school.

Stewart is a Construction Project Manager by day so his writing is a fantastic form of escapism from the stresses and intense nature of Mon-Fri career.  Now a Father as well as an Uncle, Stewart is constantly inspired to write more stories for his son Lennon

Oliver O'Neill

Scribbler

A busy professional and loving father, Oliver is an architect during the day and transforms into an enthusiastic illustrator in the evenings.

He only recently learned to draw without a ruler, breaking free from straight lines and adding a touch of whimsy to his illustrations.

He finds joy in bringing his and Stew's imaginative ideas to life through his sketches.

Elizabeth Ashard

Knotorious Threader

Lizzy Ashard is literally a Third Eye Granny, with one more grandchild on the way next year.

Trained in Theatre Design at Central School of Art, Lizzy spent ten years at LWT designing shiny floor shows like You Bet together with sports specials and dramas. She met her husband, Christopher King, when he was director on Dempsey and Makepiece

Kingston University asked her to create an MA in film and television Design which she ran for ten years. This is when she took an MA in Illustration.

Motherhood took over, rather, in the following years but she was able to run her gallery (The Hill Gallery) in collaboration with Marlborough Fine Art and also sell her own work. Her final iteration was as a rug designer, creating bespoke rugs for interior designers and private clients. Always drawing, always happy. But really quite old.

Mildred O'Neill

Chief Doily Arranger

Having found her love of writing through penning comedic poetry and the occasional erotic story to handsome men on death row, Gladys now loves writing books for her Grandchildren.

Her summers are spent touring the UK festival circuit with her branch of the WI, reading stories and serving tea to hungover partygoers. This is her favourite way to reconnect with the nation’s youth.

Gladys, the methodical and structured partner, runs a tight ship, managing operations and keeping Mildred on track to achieve the many deadlines she sets.

After a long and award winning career as a children's nanny, Mildred spent 7 years perfecting the art of tea making in the Tibetan Himalayas. This is also where she found her love of illustrating, whiling away the evenings sketching the hippy come hikers on their pilgrimage to self discovery.

Now settled in Wales, Mildred has an impressive array of amateur shepherd awards having dedicated many hours training her equally impressive sheepdog Mio.

Mildred, the driving creative force in the duo, adds colour, depth and beautiful scenery to Gladys’ stories, constructing imaginative new worlds for children to enjoy.
